Role Of Keyword In SEO

Why Keyword is Important for SEO?

Keywords are the most important SEO element for every search engine; they are what search strings are matched against. There are three things we have to consider mainly they are:
  1. Choosing the Right Keywords to Optimize
  2. Keyword Density-Generally, the idea is that the higher the keyword density, the more relevant to the search string a page is. The recommended density is 3-7% for the major 2 or 3 keywords and 1-2% for minor keywords.
  3. Keywords in Special Places:
·         Keywords in URLs and File Names.
·         Keywords in Page Titles.
·         Keywords in Headings.

Meta description Importance

Why Meta description is Important for SEO, What is the Character limitation?

  • Meta description tags, while not important to search engine rankings, are extremely important in gaining user click-through from SERPs.
  • These short paragraphs are content to searchers and to let them know exactly whether the given page contains the information they're looking for. Direct relevance to the page and uniqueness between each page’s Meta descriptions is key.
  • Meta descriptions can be any length, but search engines generally truncate snippets longer than 160 characters. It is best to keep Meta descriptions between 150 and 160 characters.
  • Crafting a readable, compelling description using important keywords can improve the click-through rate for a given webpage.
  • To maximize click-through rates on search engine result pages, it's important to note that Google and other search engines bold keywords in the description when they match search queries.
  • As with title tags, it is important that Meta descriptions on each page be unique. One way to combat duplicate Meta descriptions is to create a dynamic and programmatic way to make unique Meta descriptions for automated pages.
  • To prevent Meta descriptions from being cut off, it's best to remove all non-alphanumeric characters from Meta descriptions. If quotation marks are important in your Meta description, you can change them to single quotes rather than double quotes to prevent truncation.

Importance Of TITLE Tag in SEO

Why Title is Important for SEO, What is the Character limitation?

  • A title tag is the main text that describes an online document. It is the second most important on–page SEO element, and appears in three key places: Browsers, search engine results pages i.e., SERPs and external websites (relevancy).

  • Relevancy: Creating a descriptive(long tail) Keyword title tag is important for increasing rankings in search engines and makes for a terrific low-effort, high-impact.

  • A maximum amount of 70 characters will display in the search results. The engines will show as, "..." to indicate that a title tag has been trimmed.

  • The closer to the start of the title tag a keyword is, the more helpful it will be for ranking, and the more likely a user will be to click them in search results.

  • Many SEO firms recommend using the brand name at the end of a title tag instead and there is times when this can be a better approach. If a brand is well–known enough to make a difference in click–through rates in search results, the brand name should be first. If the brand is less known or relevant than the keyword, the keyword should be first.

  • Browsers: The title tag of any page appears at the top of some Internet browsers. While this can be important for user experience, this location has been noted to receive a relatively small amount of attention from users.

  • SERPs: When you use keywords in the title tag, search engines will bold or highlight them in the search results if a user has performed a query including those keywords. This gives the user greater visibility, and generally means you'll get a higher click–through rate.

Why 301 redirect? Why it is important for SEO?

·         Redirection:

It is a process of forwarding one URL to a different URL. There are three types.
  1. 301→ 301 refers to the HTTPS Status Code to redirect. URL moved permanently and it is SEO recommended. It passes 90-99% link juice will pass to the redirected page.
  2.  302→ it redirects the URL temporarily. It passes no link juice. It is not an SEO recommended technique. It runs on http protocol which dictates how the URL works. It has two major versions, HTTP 1.1 - “Moved Temporarily” and HTTP 1.0 - to mean “Found”
  3.  Meta Refreshes→ It executes at page level rather than the server level. Meta refreshes do pass some link juice. But, slower and not SEO recommended due to poor usability and the loss of link juice passed. They are most commonly associated with a 5 Sec countdown with the text "If you are not redirected in 5 secs, click here".

To implement a 301 redirect for websites that are hosted on servers running Apache, you'll need access to your server's. htaccess file.
 Eg:
<?
Header (“HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently”);
Header (“Location: http://www.new-url.com”);
?>
